He may be under fire from CPM politburo member Brinda Karat for allegedly mixing animal bone powder in ayurvedic preparations manufactured at his ashram, but yoga guru Swami Ramdev is the secret of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s newfound agility.
“Like master blaster Sachin Tendulkar who flaunts a cereal product as secret of his energy, I am now feeling fresh and energetic,” an effervescent Prasad says while extolling the yoga icon for his contribution to society.
Lalu, whose health deteriorated in the recent past apparently because of intense politicking and worries arising from his party’s debacle in Bihar, is suffering from an endocrine disease as his blood sugar level was high, a close aide of the Railway minister said.
The Bihar strongman is now taking lessons from yoga guru Ramdev Maharaj. Praising Ramdev, Prasad said, “He is doing good for society. He is a Yadava after all.”
Ramdev had sent his disciple Praveen to teach Lalu asanas and pranayams for checking sugar levels.
Lalu’s agility in the recent cricket match between Media XI and Railway XI where he bowled 50 deliveries in one spell and knocked down the wickets of four batsmen after a scintillating knock of 22 runs, is no longer a secret.
But whether yoga-induced robustness will help Lalu win another electoral battle in Bihar politics is anybody’s guess.
