Query: It is true that the practice of resources useful for the removal of the conditions of the mind leads to deep meditation without contemplation. But some people are able to reach this stage with out any resources. Who are those people? What is the reason?

bhavapratyayovidehaprakritilayanam ||19||

Word meaning: Bhavatpratyay= the only reason for deep meditation without contemplation appears to be . the inborn quality, its deep meditation without contemplation; videhprakritilayanam= it is found in the yogis with the qualities of non-attachment and nature loving.

Prose meaning: The only reason for deep meditation without contemplation appears to be the inborn quality, its deep meditation without contemplation, it is found in the yogis with the qualities of non-attachment and nature loving.

Purport: Some people are able to reach the stage of deep meditation without contemplation without any resources. It appears that the inborn quality is the only reason. What type of people has it? As far as this question is concerned, then the answer is that it is found in the with the qualities of non-attachment and nature loving. These are the last levels of deep mediation without contemplation. While practicing devotion the yogis reach the stage of non-attachment and immerse with nature, sometimes it so happens that after reaching this level the internal and external body gets destroyed. They take rebirth because they are not destroyed due to their actions and good deeds. But the attainment of deep meditation without contemplation in the previous birth gives the same stage in this life automatically. Therefore in this type of persons the results of previous birth and the practice of removing the conditions of the mind are responsible for the stage of deep meditation without contemplation.

We have to understand the real meaning of Bhavapratyay, Bhav means birth and pratyay means synonym for reason. Therefore bhavapratyay means the stage of deep meditation without contemplation appears to be due to the inborn quality.

Query: The ordinary devotees who re different from non-attachment and nature love, how do they get this stage?

shraddha-virya-smriti-samadhi-prajnapurvaka itaresham ||20||

Word meaning: Shraddha-virya-smriti-samadhi-pragyapurvak= dedication, strength, memory, contemplation and wisdom gives the stage of deep meditation without contemplation; itaresham= others in other words devotees different from non-attachment an nature loving yogis.

Prose meaning: Dedication, strength, memory, contemplation and wisdom gives the stage of deep meditation without contemplation, others in other words devotees different from non-attachment an nature loving yogis.

Purport: The yogis with non-attachment and nature loving get the stage of deep meditation without contemplation through the worship of resources in the previous birth. As a result they do not have to practice the preliminary yoga methods. Others, who want to reach the stage of deep meditation without contemplation, can obtain it through deep study of the yoga, enthusiasm, memorizing the facts, concentration and total wisdom.

These devotees get the stage though these resources and hence can be called as stage of deep meditation without contemplation obtained from resources, the reason being the resources when compared to the previous prose where it was inborn quality.

Query: Does the stage of deep meditation occur after a definite time or is there any difference due to intelligent or less intelligent people?

tivrasamveganamasanna ||21||

Word meaning: Tivrasamveganam= to the intelligent people; assana= is achieved quickly

Prose meaning: The intelligent people achieve the stage of deep meditation quickly.

Purport: Generally the people think that how much time does it take to achieve the stage of deep meditation. Practically there is no definite timeframe defined to reach the stage of deep mediation. In the previous prose deep interest, dedication, enthusiasm, memorizing, total concentration and wisdom are said to the resources for obtaining this stage. The devotee who practices these resources will attain this stage. That devotee attains the stage who are fast in applying these methods and these who are slow take longer time. Sometime they take several births.
