Treatment is not a business, it is a charity - this has been the ancient tradition of India. Dhanwantari, Charak, Sushrut are not Vaidyas they are known as sages. Business is the of worldly and household people, which is done for procuring money. In case of charity, money takes a secondary place and it is replaced by kindness, empathy, service, welfare, salvation etc. Therefore sages - saints, yogi, holy men, great souls but not the household persons did the work of treatment. Even today, a patient is tempted to take their shelter for treatment of incurable diseases.

It is unfortunate to note that India is the biggest market for everything related to illegal trade in medical field, be it counterfeit drugs and medicines, fraudulent doctors, illegal pathological centers and the list could go on. It is even more surprising to note that the medicines prohibited for the use of animals are also consumed in our domestic market. Yog transforms the physical body. Forbearance (Yama), which includes veracity and chastity; religious observance, which includes internal and external purity; posture and pranayam play an important role in this transformation. Regular practice of Yog keeps the physical and mental organs active and maintains their natural condition. Needless to say that natural functioning of organs is the main mantra for a healthy living.
