Journal of Medical Association' , presently published from America has released a study report related to the ayurvedic medicines prepared by the research students of Harward Medical School under the guidance of Dr. Robert Cemer. This team of researchers collected 70 ayurvedic medicines from the shops located in the neighboring areas.

Treatment is not a business, it is a charity - this has been the ancient tradition of India. Dhanwantari, Charak, Sushrut are not Vaidyas they are known as sages. Business is the of worldly and household people, which is done for procuring money. In case of charity, money takes a secondary place and it is replaced by kindness, empathy, service, welfare, salvation etc. Therefore sages - saints, yogi, holy men, great souls but not the household persons did the work of treatment. Even today, a patient is tempted to take their shelter for treatment of incurable diseases.

Yoga is a part of life (jeevan darshan), self discipline. It teaches the way of life, frees us from all diseases and leads us to salvation. It’s a spiritual education for self-cure and atma darshan. Yoga makes a man perfect. Yoga is not the only alternate medical way for cure, but based on the proofs we can say that it cures the disease from the root. It is a shastra. It is even more surprising to note that the medicines prohibited for the use of animals are also consumed in our domestic market. The health ministry is also aware of the medicines being distributed in our country in the name of medicines.
